These terms govern your use of Sharqey: the hosted service at app.sharqey.com, the website sharqey.com, and the Sharqey browser extension, desktop and mobile apps and command-line tool (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, joining an organization or buying a subscription you agree to these terms. If you use Sharqey on behalf of a company, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
Sharqey is provided by [business name, NIP (tax ID), registered address], a sole proprietorship registered in Poland ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
Local databases (.sharqey files) in the Sharqey desktop app, mobile apps and command-line tool are free. They work without a Sharqey account and never reach our servers.
Self-hosted Sharqey servers with local accounts are free. Signing in through an external identity provider (Google, Apple, OIDC or SAML) on a self-hosted server requires a license, which is provided under a separate agreement.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
When you buy a subscription on the web, you buy it from Paddle, under Paddle's Buyer Terms. Paddle charges your payment method, calculates and collects applicable taxes such as VAT or sales tax, and issues your receipts and invoices. We never see your full card details.
If a purchase is ever offered inside the iOS or Android app, it is made through the App Store or Google Play under Apple's or Google's terms, and billing, cancellations and refunds for it are handled by Apple or Google.
You can get a full refund within 14 days of a purchase. Details, including the statutory right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU, are in our Refund Policy.
Sharqey encrypts secret values on your device with keys that only you and the members of your organization hold. We cannot decrypt your secrets, reset your encryption keys or recover them for you.
You are responsible for keeping your private keys, passphrases and recovery codes safe. If you lose your key and have not configured recovery for that organization, the secrets encrypted for you cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. This is a deliberate consequence of end-to-end encryption, not a defect. The same applies to local databases: if you forget the master password of a .sharqey file, its contents are lost.
You and your organization own the secrets, files and other content you store in Sharqey. You give us only the permission needed to store, transmit and back up that content in order to provide the Service. Titles, usernames and website addresses of secrets are stored unencrypted so that search and autofill work, as described in the Privacy Policy; do not put sensitive information in these fields.
Secrets created in an organization belong to that organization. If you leave it or delete your account, they stay with the organization.
You must not:
Found a security issue? Report it to [email protected] and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it.
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and do not offer a service level agreement unless agreed in writing. We may carry out maintenance and change or remove features; we will give reasonable notice of changes that significantly reduce what a paid plan includes.
We back up the service database regularly and keep backups for up to 30 days. Backups exist to restore the Service after a failure, not to restore individual secrets on request. Keep your own export of secrets you cannot afford to lose; you can export them at any time with the desktop app or the command-line tool.
Signing in with Apple, Google or your company's identity provider, syncing a local database through iCloud Drive, and payments through Paddle are subject to those providers' own terms. We are not responsible for their availability.
If you got a Sharqey app from the App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties beyond those set out in these terms. This does not limit the statutory rights of consumers, including the right to a Service that conforms to the contract under Polish and EU consumer law.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount the organization paid us for the Service in that period. In particular, we are not liable for data that cannot be decrypted because a key, passphrase or recovery method was lost (see section 7).
Nothing in these terms limits liability for damage caused intentionally, for personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, these limitations apply only as far as your mandatory consumer rights allow.
If you use Sharqey as a consumer (for purposes outside your trade, business or profession), you have the rights given to you by mandatory consumer law, including the 14-day right of withdrawal described in the Refund Policy. You can file a complaint about the Service by writing to [email protected]; we will respond within 14 days. You may also use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, for example through a municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) in Poland or a consumer authority in your country.
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country, and you can bring claims before the courts of the country where you live. For business customers, disputes go to the court competent for our registered address.
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will announce material changes by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with the changes, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept them.
